In these experiments the template is deformed according a planar model with known parameters. The tracking algorithm is applied and the estimated transformation parameters are compared to the ground truth values.
We present four different applications of the algorithm:
TTT | 3 iterations using the translation samples. |
AAA | 3 iterations using the affine samples. |
PPP | 3 iterations using the planar samples. |
TAP | 1 iteration with translation samples, then 1 iteration with affine samples and then 1 iteration with planar samples. |
For each experiment we show the following plots:
Plot 1 | The norm of the corner displacements at each iteration and ground-truth |
Plot 2 | The error of the norm to the ground-truth value |
Plot 3 | The value of the image registration residue (SSD) |
The plots are presented with the following convention:
ground-truth values | black line, cross symbol |
after first iteration | blue line, triangle symbol |
after second iteration | green line, circle symbol |
after third iteration | red line, star symbol |
We present two sets of experiments:
The template is deformed with random parameters for:
Scaled Euclidean Deformation (translation+rotation+scale)
The template is deformed with parameters monotonically increasing for:
This last set of experiments allows to perceive the range limitations of the algorithm
