About me:
I am a PhD student in the IST-EPFL program (since January 2009), comprised of two years at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, Portugal and two years at EPFL. I am co-advised by Prof. Alcherio Martinoli (EPFL) and Prof. Pedro Lima (IST).
I develop work in the Institutional Robotics (IR) project, a new approach to the coordination of distributed robotic systems, drawing some inspiration from social sciences, namely from Institutional Economics’ concepts. The goal of my research is not only to formalize and implement IR concepts on both simulated and real robots, but also to develop mathematical models of these coordinated systems.
My main research interests are: distributed robotics systems, institutional and swarm robotics, coordination, cooperation, multi-agent systems.
