About me


My name is José Seabra, I was born in 1983 in Leiria, Portugal.
I  received a Diploma (MSc) in Biomedical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon in 2007 and since then I'm pursuing a PhD degree focusing Biomedical Imaging and Medical Image Processing. In particular, my thesis investigates the usefulness of ultrasound for objective assessment of atherosclerotic disease. This work is advised by Prof. João Sanches, and has been taking place at Institute for Systems and Robotics (ISR-IST), Instituto Cardiovascular de Lisboa and Computer Vision Center, Barcelona.
My research interests include all fields of Medical imaging and image processing, segmentation, de-noising and Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD).
