Robust Structure from Motion under Orthography

We present a method to recover the 3D shape and motions of a rigid object from a video sequence. The shape is described by a class of parametric models. Our technique exploits the parametric representation induced on the optical flow. The algorithm is in two steps: the first estimates the optical flow parameters; the second inverts the 3D shape and motions from the optical flow parameter estimates. We describe experimental results that illustrate the viability of the method.
